Most dating apps write this page to make you feel safe. We'd rather you actually be safe — which means telling you what we screen, what we don't, and what we haven't built yet.
You only ever see one introduction a day. That's not just a design choice — it means every single profile gets read before it lands, instead of a thousand flying past unread.
Before an introduction reaches you, a dedicated Safety agent reads that person's profile looking for the things that don't add up: off-platform contact attempts ("DM me on IG"), commercial pitches (OnlyFans, sugar arrangements, MLM), predatory or hostile language, and details that contradict each other. It's the heaviest-weighted agent we run — a profile that trips it doesn't get shown to you at all.
Inside any chat or profile. Reporting someone can end the conversation on the spot — you never have to keep a chat open to get away from it. Blocking is permanent and mutual: they don't see you again, and you don't see them.
When three different people report the same account, it's automatically flagged for human review — one person can't brigade someone off the platform, and three people can't be ignored. A real member of our team makes the call.
We don't sell it, and it isn't used to train any general-purpose AI. Your age and exact location are gated — you decide what's shown. And you can delete your account, profile, photos, matches and all, from Settings, whenever you like. No retention hostage-taking.
Not a safety feature on paper, but it works like one. Nobody on Datestiny is running twenty chats at once, because the app won't let them. The economics of mass-messaging strangers simply don't work here.
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to NCMEC as US law requires, and we cooperate with law enforcement on trafficking, exploitation, and crimes against children. The exact protocols — what legal process we require, when we notify you — are written out in our Privacy Policy, not hidden.
Every dating app has a page like this. Most of them only list the wins. Here's ours, and here's the gap.
No — not yet. Photo verification is on our roadmap and is being built server-side, but it is not running today. That means a photo on Datestiny has not been checked against a live selfie, and we cannot tell you that the person in the picture is the person you're talking to.
We're telling you this instead of burying it, because a safety promise you can't rely on is worse than no promise at all. Treat every profile photo on Datestiny as unverified. Nothing else on this page closes that gap — not the Safety agent, not reporting, not moderation. Those catch bad behaviour and bad profiles. None of them prove a face.
Until it ships, the checklist below is doing that job. Please actually use it.
Signals in the written profile — scam and spam patterns, off-platform contact attempts, commercial pitches, predatory language, and internal contradictions. It is genuinely good at those. It is not an identity check, it does not read your private messages, and it cannot verify a photograph.
We don't run them, and we won't claim to. No consumer dating app in this market performs meaningful criminal background screening, and the ones that imply otherwise are selling you a feeling. Assume anyone you meet here is a stranger, because they are.
Datestiny is built to get you to one real meetup. That's the whole point — and it's also the moment that deserves the most care.
The single most effective thing you can do. A five-minute call tells you more than fifty messages, and anyone unwilling to do one before meeting has told you something too. Since photos aren't verified, this is currently your best check that the person is who they say they are.
A café, a bar, a busy park — somewhere with staff and strangers. Not their place, not yours, not a car. When Coach helps you pick a spot, it picks public ones on purpose.
A friend, a sibling, anyone. Share the venue and the time, and arrange to text them when you're home. This is not paranoid. It is what everyone who has done this a while already does.
Your own transport, your own way home. Don't be dependent on someone you've just met for how the evening ends.
If someone pushes hard to move to WhatsApp, Instagram, or Telegram in the first few messages, that's a pattern our Safety agent flags for a reason. Off-platform, we can't help you — and neither can the report button.
The emergency, the visa, the stranded relative, the "investment opportunity" — it is always a scam, it is always a stranger, and it never ends with one payment. Report it and block.
No ticket numbers, no chatbot triage.
The Report button on any profile or chat goes straight to moderation, and can end the conversation at the same time. Block is immediate and permanent.
Put SAFETY in the subject line and it goes to the top of the pile.
